Amaravati to get direct connectivity with Vijayawada, Mangalagiri

Giri Amaravati is set to gain direct connectivity with Vijayawada and Mangalagiri from Thursday (August 13, 2026) with the opening of two steel bridges and the second phase of the Seed Access Road, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana said.Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the two bridges and the second-phase Seed Access Road and hand over the quarters for MLAs and MLCs during his visit. Mr. Narayana, who returned from London after meeting leading architects, consultants and representatives of global firms on the design and development of Amaravati’s iconic buildings and infrastructure, inspected arrangements for the inauguration and other programmes on Wednesday.Two steel bridges, 110 and 280 metres, open in Amaravati on Thursday, giving the capital direct road links to Vijayawada and Mangalagiri. The other, measuring 280 metres, spans the Kondaveeti Vagu and Guntur Channel, strengthening connectivity to the capital region. The project comprises nine towers, including six for MLAs and three for MLCs. Each tower has a stilt and 12 floors, is 49.80 metres high and contains 24 units, including 23 residential units and an office, taking the total to 216 units.The steel bridge over the Kondaveetivagu nears completion, and work continues on the seed access road running parallel to the Karakatta Road, near Undavalli in Guntur district, Amaravati, on Monday.Video: K.V.S. Each tower will have a 50-kW rooftop solar power system and a 2,000-litre solar water-heating system. Parking has been provided for 303 cars, including two spaces for each unit and additional visitor parking.The facilities include landscaped green areas, walking and jogging tracks, children’s play areas, basketball, skating and tennis courts, and a clubhouse with a swimming pool, gym, supermarket and mini-theatre.
