AMANDA ABBINGTON has landed a major TV role opposite Oscar-winner Emma Thompson as she puts her Strictly Come Dancing bullying ordeal behind her. The 54-year-old Sherlock star was snapped filming Apple TV drama Down Cemetery Road in North London last week wearing long brown locks, floral dress and a mac. An onlooker said: “Amanda was all smiles on set as she got back to work after the Strictly drama. Emma was also on set in character.” The pair are working on the second series of the highly acclaimed detective show, which was released last year, and followed a missing girl and house explosion. It is Amanda’s first big telly role since the 2024 Strictly crisis involving Giovanni. The Italian pro was put under investigation after Amanda complained about his treatment of her during rehearsals for the 2023 series. He denied any wrongdoing. The BBC has since apologised to Amanda, upheld some of her complaints and given her a five-figure payout.
