He died at the scene, while the passengers — two 14-year-old boys from Devonport — were seriously injured.One was taken to the Launceston General Hospital by the rescue helicopter, while the other was taken to the North West Regional Hospital by ambulance. They are both in a serious but stable condition. The driver of the Mercedes, a 61-year-old man from Aberdeen in north-west Tasmania, was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.His passenger, a 60-year-old woman from Aberdeen, was taken to the North West Regional Hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.Railton Road, between Frogmore Lane and River Road, was closed for six hours following the crash as investigators gathered evidence, but has since reopened.Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact them.A report will be prepared for the coroner.
