The matter will next be heard on November 4.The bench said the CBSE had been made a party to the case to ensure that affiliated schools followed its earlier directions and to facilitate action against those found violating them. The deputy transport commissioner told the court that inspections of school vehicles would continue and compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act and related rules would be ensured, according to PTI.The court said inspections must be conducted regularly to protect children's safety and should not be treated as a one-time exercise. The bench was also informed that Lucknow's Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), who headed a committee formed to address traffic-related issues, had been transferred. It directed the Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police to consult the additional advocate general and nominate a new chairperson for the committee. The appointed officer must not be below the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police. The appointment must be completed within 10 days of the submission of a certified copy of the order. As information on the building plans of schools in neighbouring districts had not been received, the court gave the state government another 10 days to submit the details.Once the plans are available, the additional advocate general, his team and the court-appointed adviser will examine them and submit a report at the next hearing. The court's directions focus on improving traffic management near CBSE-affiliated schools, ensuring regular inspections of school vehicles and completing pending appointments and submissions before the next hearing.- Ends
