At a press conference here on Friday, he said he would not reply specifically to UDF convener Adoor Prakash’s comments that the Chief Minister was keeping him in the dark about important government decisions.“As a Chief Minister, I am deferential to the party. I am not someone who is beyond criticism. If there are any mistakes on my part, I am ready to correct it. On occasions in which I am criticised despite doing no wrong, I will try to explain and make the person understand. Our Cabinet includes a cross-section of party leaders, including the KPCC president, two former presidents and the Youth Congress president. All decisions are being discussed with them,” he said.Mr. Satheesan stated that the Congress high command has not sought any explanation from him regarding Mr. Prakash’s allegations. Mr. Prakash had in a press conference last week indicated that the Chief Minister, in his capacity as UDF chairperson, had not taken the initiative to convene a meeting of the UDF. Mr. Prakash added that, as UDF convener, he had become aware of several decisions taken by Mr. Satheesan’s government “through the media.” He had said that he would convey his dissatisfaction over the developments to the Congress leadership.Helicopter contractMr.Satheesan said that the government decided not to renew its helicopter service contract with aviation services company Chipsan Aviation Pvt. Ltd. as it was expensive. “We might still need a helicopter to transport organs and for the Home department’s purposes. We will have to think of alternative arrangements,” he said.
