All-India Feminist Alliance asks RSS to sever ties with Kerala Hindutva ideologue T.G. Mohandas

The All-India Feminist Alliance (ALIFA) has written an open letter to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) seeking its “written and public condemnation” of Hindutva ideologue T.G. Mohandas’s controversial statements and immediate severance of all platforms and courtesy extended to him by Sangh Parivar organisations.In its letter to RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, ALIFA also sought “pro-active support” from the RSS for the legal and criminal process against Mr. Mohandas, “instead of obstruction.”“The Sarsanghchalak’s office must note that women, youth, citizens who protest against any government, of any party, are entitled to dignity, agency and constitutional rights; whatever their political ideology,” it said.‘Silence is complicity’ALIFA, an initiative of the National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM), has demanded a positive response from the RSS leadership by this year’s Independence Day. The alliance said that if August 15 passes in silence, it will “read the silence as an answer,” and will say so in Kerala and across the country. “Silence is complicity,” the letter said.ALIFA has also sent copies of the letter to the national and State presidents of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Chief Minister and Home Minister of Kerala, the Chairpersons of the National Commission for Women and the Kerala Women’s Commission.
