All Heart Containers and Pieces of Heart locations in Ocarina of Time

Lon Lon Ranch Young Link Head into the tower in the southwest corner of Lon Lon Ranch. Move the boxes to reveal a tunnel, and crawl through to find this Piece of Heart. Hyrule Castle Town Young Link, Night Head into the Treasure Chest Shop on the east side of Hyrule Castle Time, and play their game for 10 rupees. You need to open five chests containing small keys in a row, and you'll receive a Piece of Heart as a reward. It's all random unless you come back with the Lenses of Truth, which will show you what's inside every chest. Gerudo Valley Cucco (Young Link) As young Link, pick up the Cucco, and jump across the ravine to the chest in the southwest. Open it to get a Piece of Heart. Alternatively, you can come as adult Link and jump from the cliff to the north, but you'll need Hookshot to get to the other side. Gerudo Valley None Drop into the water on the north side of Gerudo Valley. Swim to the shore, and follow the path behind the waterfall until you reach the end, where you'll find a Piece of Heart. Lake Hylia Young Link Catch a fish longer than 50 cm at the Fishing Pond on the east side of Lake Hylia. Kakariko Village Cucco Pick up a Cucco and walk up the stairs in front of the windmill. Jump over the wall to the north, and climb up the ladder. Pick up the Cucco near the windmill, and jump onto the rooftop north of the well. You'll find a man sitting on the east side of the roof. Talk to him, and he'll give you a Piece of Heart as a reward for finding him. Graveyard Night Pull the southeasternmost tombstone and drop into the hole. You'll find a chest with a Piece of Heart. Graveyard Night Play Dampé's Heart Poundin' Grave-Diggin' Tour, and dig up the Piece of Heart. It's important to note that whatever you find in each pile is random, so you'll have to pay Dampé 10 rupees for a chance to dig up the Piece of Heart. Hyrule Castle Town Young Link, Night, Show the Kakariko Village Guard Zelda's Letter Help the lady find Richard, her white dog. Richard is the only white dog that twirls when you interact with them. After you find him, bring him back to his owner, and she'll give you a Piece of Heart. Lost Woods Young Link From the Kokiri Forest entrance, turn right and drop off the edge in front of you. You'll find two Skull Kids standing on a tree. Play three rounds of their game to earn a Piece of Heart. Lost Woods Young Link, Saria's Song From the Kokiri Forest entrance, turn left, and you'll find a Skull Kid on a tree. Stand on the stump, and play Saria's Song (R - A - Y - R - A - Y) for them. After, they'll give you a Piece of Heart. Goron City Deku stick First, light the torches around Goron City, which will get the large urn at the center to start spinning. Then, head to the northwest corner of the second-lowest floor, and you'll find a bomb flower. You need to throw a bomb flower into the urn, and you'll receive a Piece of Heart. Wait for the urn to start rotating toward you before you pick up the bomb. Then, quickly run as close to the edge as you can, and throw it in. Death Mountain Crater Bombs ​After you enter Death Mountain Crater from the Death Mountain Trail, run to the ledge between the two large rocks. Drop onto the platform below, and you'll find a Piece of Heart. Death Mountain Crater Young Link, bombs, 100 rupees After you enter Death Mountain Crater from the Death Mountain Trail, quickly run to the left side, and drop into the pit with the Business Scrub. Reflect the Deku nut back at them and purchase the Piece of Heart from them for 100 rupees. Kakariko Village Bombs (young Link), Hookshot (adult Link) At the top of Death Mountain Trail, you'll find Kaepora Gaebora, your owl buddy. Accept his offer to go down to Kakariko Village. He'll drop you off on Impa's House. Look to the south, and you'll see a Piece of Heart on the roof below you. Alternatively, you can come back as adult Link, Hookshot onto the vines behind Impa's house, and collect the Piece of Heart. Hyrule Castle Town Bombs, young Link Complete the Bombchu Bowling Alley game three times to earn a Piece of Heart. Zora River Cucco Pick up the Cucco near the beginning of Zora River, carry them past the frogs, and throw them onto the higher ledge across the river. Pick them back up, and jump across the river to the large island. Climb up the vines, jump over the gap to the south, and drop into the hole. Pick up the Cucco inside, and ride the flower back up. Carry the Cucco over to the Gossip Stone, and jump over to the Piece of Heart. Zora River Cucco Pick up the Cucco in Zora River, and carry them toward the ramps leading to Zora Domain. Walk to the top of the first ramp, and you'll see a platform along the northern wall with a Piece of Heart. Jump over to it with the Cucco to collect it. Zora Domain Deku stick Walk into the room with King Zora, and light a Deku stick on fire using the torches at the entrance. Go down the stairs and light every torch along the way until you light the torches behind the waterfall. A chest containing a Piece of Heart will appear. Kakariko Village Adult Link After you complete the race against Dampé, you'll end up in the windmill in Kakariko Village. Hop onto the rotating platform and ride it over to the Piece of Heart. Graveyard Magic bean As young Link, plant a magic bean beside the tree in the northwest corner of the Graveyard. Return as adult Link, and ride the magic bean plant up to the Piece of Heart. Graveyard Adult Link Finish Dampé's race within a minute and you'll receive a Piece of Heart. Lake Hylia Magic bean or Scarecrow Song As young Link, plant a magic bean into the soft soil beside the laboratory. Return as adult Link and ride the magic bean plant to the roof. Climb up to the top, and you'll find a Piece of Heart. Alternatively, if you learned the Scarecrow Song, walk to the northwest side of the house and play it. A scarecrow will appear on the roof, and you can Hookshot to it. Lake Hylia Golden Scale Acquire the Golden Scale by catching a fish longer than 60 cm as adult Link. Then, dive to the bottom of the pool in the laboratory, and collect both blue rupees. The Lake Scientist will give you a Piece of Heart when you resurface. Hyrule Field Bombs, 100 rupees As adult Link, head to the east side of Hyrule Castle's entrance, and you'll find a circular rock in the ground and Fairy Thoughts on a tree. Read it and you'll learn the Business Scrub's password, "Sell somethin', will ya?" Travel back in time to become young Link, and return to the circular rock. Break it, drop into the hole, and say the password to the Business Scrub. They'll offer you a Piece of Heart for 100 rupees. Hyrule Field None As adult Link, head to the west side of Hyrule Field. Along the northern wall, you'll see a rock formation in between two cliffs. Head under it, and you'll find an open chest and Fairy Thoughts beside it. The Fairy Thoughts will tell you that they left the chest unlocked for you, but you have to make sure to open it before anyone else does. Unfortunately, the chest is already open, but luckily, you can time travel to the past. Return as young Link and open the chest to get a Piece of Heart. Zora River Song of Storms Play the Song of Storms for the frogs at Zora River. Zora River Zelda's Lullaby, Sun's Song or Song of Time, Song of Storms, Epona's Song, Saria's Song Play Zelda's Lullaby, Sun's Song or Song of Time, Song of Storms, Epona's Song, and Saria's Song for the frogs. As each song starts with a different note, a different frog will enlarge after you play each song. Afterwards, play the game with the frogs, and get every note correct. Death Mountain Trail Magic bean Plant a magic bean into the soft soil in front of Dodongo Cavern. Return as adult Link and ride the magic bean plant, and it'll take you right to a Piece of Heart. Kakariko Village 50 Gold Skulltulas After you've collected 50 Gold Skulltula tokens, go to the cursed family's residence in Kakariko Village. Talk to the Cursed Rich Man, and he'll give you a Piece of Heart. Death Mountain Crater Magic bean, Bolero of Fire After you make it to the Fire Temple and learn the Bolero of Fire from Sheik. Turn into young Link, use the Bolero of Fire, and quickly plant a magic bean into the soft soil to the southeast. Turn back into adult Link and ride the magic bean plant, which will take you to the Piece of Heart. Zora Fountain Adult Link Hop across the ice platforms to the east side of Zora Fountain, and you'll find this Piece of Heart at the end. Zora Fountain Iron Boots, adult Link Equip the Iron Boots and sink to the bottom of Zora Fountain, where you'll find this Piece of Heart. Gerudo Fortress Adult Link, Scarecrow Song or Longshot There are two ways of getting this Piece of Heart. For the Scarecrow Song method, make your way to the top of Gerudo Fortress, follow the path to its end, and you'll see a spiral of wind. Play the Scarecrow Song and Hookshot over to the roof with the chest containing the Piece of Heart. Alternatively, you can take the path through the fortress that wraps from the east side to the north. You'll end up on the other side of your prison cell, and you'll find a ladder. Climb it, look to the east, and you'll see the chest. Longshot to it, and open it. Gerudo Fortress Adult Link, Epona, Day, Fairy Bow Get at least 1,000 points in Horseback Archery, and you'll receive a Piece of Heart. Evil Desert Colossus Magic bean As young Link, plant a magic bean into the soft soil to the left of the Spirit Temple entrance. Return as adult Link and ride the magic bean plant to its end, where it'll take you to a Piece of Heart.
