Dark discoveries all week (Picture: Danielle Baguley/ITV/Metro) There’s further doubt over a deeply damaged child, a painful revelation and a dark discovery next week in Coronation Street. When Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) falls ill with a cold, she’s as unbearable as one would expect from the diva landlady, but as she shuts up shop, she’s not seen until the following day when Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) discovers her at the bottom of the cellar stairs – but how did she get there? Tim and Sally Metcalfe (Joe Duttine and Sally Dynevor) continue to struggle with Lucy Parkinson’s (Anya Dewin) increasingly disturbing behaviour, and Sally in particular begins to worry that she’s simply too much for them to handle, but will they give up on the traumatised teenager? Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) is over the moon when she receives a promotion from George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), but as she learns more about the business, she’s struck by a discovery that’ll change her life forever, but what is it? Elsewhere, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) worry about Sam Blakeman’s (Jude Riordan) temperament, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) struggles in the aftermath of his cancer diagnosis, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) finds a job and Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) starts beef with Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger). You ready for the spoilers? Let’s go! Monday, September 21 Bernie’s optimism riles Kit (Picture: Danielle Baguley/ITV) Despite Bernie Winter-Alahan’s (Jane Hazlegrove) optimism at her appointment, she’s rattled when Kit storms away after she declares that she knows that she’ll test negative for the BRCA gene. Debbie’s in her element at the Rovers pub quiz Glenda is hosting to raise money for Debbie’s dementia choir, and with it fixed for her to win, she’s chuffed by her victory, before she comes across Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) slagging off Carl to Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), and her mood plummets. Elsewhere, Lucy pulls a sicky when Sally tells her she’s planning to attend the pub quiz and Maggie’s disapproving when Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and Eva let Glenda post a video of Susie (Aurora Bradshaw) singing on the Little Big Shotz website. Sally is further rattled when she questions Lucy on a disturbing piece of art she’s created for school, and while Lucy rails at Sally, she’s quick to turn on the doe eyes for Tim. Later, Lucy’s fury rises as she watches Tim offer Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) a hug, while Sally’s concerned that Lucy needs professional help. Although she’s overjoyed when George promotes her to assistant funeral director, Christina’s brought back down to Earth when she learns about Bernie’s news, and when George remarks that children are nothing but a worry, she’s left deep in thought. Meanwhile, Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) sends Kit home after he blows up at a suspect while Glenda goes for Maggie after she sabotages Little Big Shotz. Wednesday, September 23 Christina is rattled (Picture: Danielle Baguley/ITV) Christina watches George in action as she tries to learn the ropes of her new job, but after she observes him talking Tim and Lucy through plaque options for Rachel, she’s sickened when George gives her access to Rachel’s digital file and flees. Susie is invited to audition for a role in a musical, with the casting director having discovered her new social media presence, but as her family listen to her rehearse, Sam’s a million miles away and Nick demands that he put his phone away. Also, Lucy apologises to Sally and tries to mend fences, while Debbie mistakes Kylie, a girl Carl has brought back to the flat as Kylie Minogue. Thursday, September 24 Is Eva in danger? (Picture: Danielle Baguley/ITV) With Eva suffering a cold, Ben takes Susie to her audition in London, and as Nick and Sam arrive to retrieve Sam’s phone, nobody can find it. With Glenda having had enough of Eva and leaving, she’s forced to close the pub, but there’s a concerning noise downstairs. As Shanice (Molly Kilduff) watches Lucy write in her grief journal, she genuinely tells her that she hopes she can feel happy soon, leaving Lucy deeply touched by her words. Concurrently, Christina tells George all about her past and is warmed when he listens without judgement, Nick and Toyah are taken aback by Sam’s rage over his phone and after Carl’s first Street Cars shift, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) makes it clear that he wants him to move out as soon as his first payment clears. Friday, September 25 Debbie makes a horrifying discovery (Picture: Danielle Baguley/ITV) Nick and Toyah are searching for Sam, but Debbie finds him first in her disorientated search for Carl, and he directs her to the Rovers, where Debbie’s left ashen faced as she discovers Eva in a heap at the bottom of the cellar steps, but she gets confused when looking for help, and an ambulance isn’t called until Glenda finds Eva later. Sally and Tim’s happiness at the prospect of Lucy spending quality time with Shanice is ruined when Ronnie escorts her back home, drunk.
