If you've played a Crafting Survival game like Subnautica 2 before, you might already know how important certain locations on the map can be. This could be a resource location that you'd want to revisit often or a high-level area that you can't tackle just yet. Marking these places on your map can be quite crucial. However, this underwater game doesn't have a map, which means that you can't simply place a pointer and call it a day. If you want to mark specific locations here, you'll have to go through a whole process that makes a special icon appear on your HUD, but you can remove it whenever you want. Subnautica 2 is in Early Access at the moment, which means that the content of this article can change at any point. How To Mark Locations In Subnautica 2 To mark any area in Subnautica 2, you'll first need to get yourself a beacon, which you can unlock by scanning its fragments in the locations mentioned below. You'll also need a Habitat Builder for this. Once you have both of these items, go to the location you want to mark with one Titanium and one Copper in your inventory. Here, use your Habitat Builder and go over to the Utility section, where you'll find the beacon. Select it and you can create it at the location, which then marks it as an icon on your HUD. Once you've created the beacon, you can rename it by getting close and selecting the "Set Label" option. You can also carry this beacon in your arms, but it slows down your movement speed and prevents you from using other tools. If you want to take this beacon somewhere else, you can deconstruct it using the Habitat Builder to get your resources back.
