Sign in to your Collider account Before Marvel ever took over the film space, they were kicking butt and taking names in the television space through animated shows like the '60s Spider-Man series. Nowadays, they still have plenty of success on the silver screen, especially with how much the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Disney+ have been thriving as of late, and especially after a rougher start post-WandaVision. While not every Disney+ MCU series has been a huge success, they've had a plethora of better luck in these last few years than they had when they were under the direction of the previous Disney CEO, who had an unfortunate "quantity over quality" mindset. Moving forward, Marvel Studios' run on television is only going to continue getting better, too, thanks to the awesome content coming to small screens all over the world. Which are the most anticipated, though? All of them are in some way, shape, or form, but some are definitely more favored than others. 5 'Marvel Zombies' Season 2 (2027–2028) Image via Disney+ One of the only products to actually spin out of What If...? is none other than Marvel Zombies, based on the hit comic book title of the same name, written by Robert Kirkman. Unlike said comic, however, the television series had a pretty mixed reception. While it feels different from a lot of Marvel shows, thanks to how singular it feels from the rest of the MCU's content, that didn't save it from the issues it suffered from that kept it from being exceptional. It had far too short an episode count, a half-baked storyline, and minimal backstory that could have truly benefited the series' plot. With how beloved the Marvel Zombies (2005) comic book series is, people genuinely want this show to succeed and become everything that made the source material so lovable and memorable. It was good enough for a second season to be warranted, though. Confirmed on April 6th, 2026, Marvel Zombies will be returning to Disney+ sometime between 2027 and 2028. There may not be a large number of people abundantly excited about its return, but it's worth looking forward to in hopes that it improves upon what genuinely worked with the first season. It's also worth getting excited about the return of this show's great animation, voice acting, and intense action scenes — Blade (Todd Williams) specifically getting some great sequences. If Marvel Studios and Marvel Animation can take what they've learned from Season 1 and improve on those aspects for the second season, there's a good chance that Marvel Zombies has a better shot at success moving forward (aka, please give us more episodes, guys). 4 'X-Men '97' Season 3 (2027) Image via Disney+ The first season of X-Men '97 was one of Marvel Studios' most successful shows to date when it aired, being a continuation of the legendary X-Men: The Animated Series. This should've meant that the result of Season 2 was going to be just as good, right? Well, it was at first, but as the series went on, people poked quite a few holes in it that led to a more negative reception than the first season. Many felt that the Apocalypse (Ross Marquand) storyline was vastly undercooked, certain characters' plots got screwed over by the inclusion of others' that felt a tad forced, and, most importantly, the writing quality significantly decreased in certain spots that were rewritten by the Season 3 team. That's right, after the firing of X-Men '97's showrunner, Beau DeMayo, in March of 2024, they decided to keep the show going with new writers for Season 3. When it came to the production of Season 2, they kept some of what DeMayo wrote, but also rewrote a lot (partially because they cut the missing tenth episode), utilizing the Season 3 team — confirmed by DeMayo himself. Unfortunately for Marvel Studios, it is very clear what was rewritten, simply due to the new writing team not having the same style and substance (regardless of what got DeMayo fired, which was for a valid reason, as far as everyone knows). This has led to mixed anticipation for Season 3. The third entry is quite anticipated, yes, but not necessarily for all the right reasons. While many just want to see more X-Men content, there are a large number of people who are anticipating it to see if it'll hold the same quality as this recent season's rewrites. One thing that many were confused about, though, is the inclusion of a new white Vision (Paul Bettany), who escaped the finale and has yet to show up anywhere. Where has he been? Why was he introduced in the first place? Was it just to give Vision someone to fight? Well, fans are finally getting answers to their questions with the upcoming VisionQuest series, coming this October, and there's plenty to be excited about. The only thing holding VisionQuest back is the new Vision himself. Many are unsure of why he even exists and struggle to care much about him because of this. It's not the Vision they know. However, VisionQuest has a lot going for it in the inclusion of the ever-missed Avengers: Age of Ultron villain, Ultron (James Spader). Acting as the finale of the trilogy of shows that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along, VisionQuest is sure to be filled to the brim with great story, regardless of people's interest in the protagonist. The fact that it's part of this particular trilogy means that the show could relatively feature anyone as the protagonist and people would still be interested. Not to mention, it's hard not to get excited about the return of the phenomenal talents of Paul Bettany and James Spader. It's going to be quite the Avengers: Age of Ultron reunion on October 14th, 2026, and maybe there's hope of an Ultron return as an Avengers villain in the future thanks to it. 2 'Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' Season 2 (January 2027) Image via Marvel Animation No matter what, people will always get excited about a Spider-Man animated series. After the success of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 1, the excitement for the second season was real as could be. Acting as an alternate timeline to the MCU, this show brings the MCU Spider-Man to life in a whole new way. With the inclusion of Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo), Harry Osborn (Zeno Robinson), Nico Minoru (Grace Song), Scorpion (Jonathan Medina), and more iconic Spider-Man characters, this animated adventure is unlike anything the MCU Spider-Man has ever faced. Not only does Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man seem to be featuring the iconic Venom Symbiote and Eddie Brock (Josh Keaton) in Season 2, but they're likely bringing Gwen Stacy into the fold as well. While some aren't fans of Gwen being "Spider-Gwen" in Season 2, the quality of Season 1 is giving them hope that she'll be done right. With Otto Octavius (Hugh Dancy) finally becoming Doctor Octopus, as well as the confirmation of Rhino (Travis Willingham) and Lizard (Zehra Fazal), Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is looking to play with far more of the Spider-Man comic universe than the first season ever got to. Also, who couldn't be excited about the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil, now in his classic red spandex comic suit? 1 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 3 (March 2027) Image via Jojo Whilden /©Disney+/Marvel Studios /Courtesy Everett Collection One of the most popular Marvel television projects to date is none other than Netflix's Daredevil. Because of this, people were very excited and simultaneously anxious about the series getting a revival on Disney+ in the form of Daredevil: Born Again. While the first season had a mixed reception, being an amalgamation of an old version of the show and a new one by the original Daredevil writers, Season 2 was far better for those who stuck around and left people extremely excited about the third installment. With Matt Murdock being arrested with Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) at the end of Season 2, there's a lot to look forward to in season number three. The love for the sequel season had people wishing they could see Matt appear in what they thought was a prison sequence in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which ended up being the final battle in the Department of Damage Control. The love for Daredevil has always been strong, and it doesn't seem to be dying out anytime soon. With how much the second season improved from the first, if the crew continues that improvement, Season 3 is going to potentially be one of the best Disney+ products in recent years. There's no denying that Daredevil has some immense power in the Marvel fanbase, and people want to see more of him. Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is going to be one heck of a ride.
