Peacock is now streaming the entirety of a classic sci-fi comedy with real heart, which tells the story of how an alien on a mission to destroy Earth is won over to humanity. Time and time again, TV shows focus on the darkness of humankind, highlighting greed and betrayal. Yet, this show brought the people of the small Colorado town of Patience together, united in protecting and helping their own. Alan Tudyk's series became more than a story of scary aliens and humanity fighting against a threat. Each main character had time to grow and learn. Even those who seemed too old to be taught new tricks were able to open their eyes to everything they were seeing and open up about how they were feeling. A show can rarely create a full roster of characters you truly want to see succeed in life, but Resident Alien managed it in spades. The arrival of all four seasons on Peacock is bittersweet for those who loved it, as it's a reminder that Resident Alien's cancellation meant was never fully complete. While showrunner Chris Sheridan was able to give viewers some closure, there were many open plotlines that deserved time that the Resident Alien season 4 finale couldn't offer. Cliffhangers created hope for the future, and yet, Syfy decided there wasn't money in the budget for it. Even the Netflix effect couldn't budge minds. If you didn't catch the sci-fi dramaedy Alan Tudyk misses most when it first aired, there's a new chance to binge-watch. All four seasons of Resident Alien have joined Peacock at the perfect time — just in time for Halloween. All 4 Seasons Of Resident Alien Are Now On Peacock Image via MovieStillsDB This is the time of year for all things spooky and fun, and a show that's about an alien crash-landing on Earth definitely ticks all the boxes. Based on the Dark Horse comic and starring Alan Tudyk, Resident Alien was always going to be made for entertaining viewing, but it has some heartfelt moments at the same time. Peacock's addition of the show's final season to its catalog will delight a whole new generation of sci-fi and comedy lovers. While Resident Alien starts with Tudyk's character crashing on the planet he's supposed to destroy, he has to learn how to speak and act like a human, creating some hilarious moments as he takes on the identity of Harry. Of course, there's one person who can see his true form, and it's one of the children in the town. This entire plot adds an element of fear, but in an amusing way, as young Max attempts to let the world know there's an alien in town, and Harry attempts to kill Max to protect his identity. Along the way, there are topics of survival, alien invasions and threats, and time travel. The sci-fi elements create an intriguing series, while the lighter humor offers something for those who don't need the jump scares at Halloween. This week, Peacock has made Resident Alien season 4 available for streaming along with the rest of the series. Why Resident Alien Deserves At Least One More Season Resident Alien is more than just a fun story about an alien learning to be human. It's a story of compassion, understanding, and growth. The town of Patience became a character of its own right throughout the four seasons, and the more everyone got to know the characters, the more it was clear the story had to continue. Resident Alien season 4 was never intended to be the last. At least, not by the show's hand. Chris Sheridan did create an end, especially for Resident Alien main character Harry Vanderspeigle, but it wasn't out of choice. He just wanted to make sure viewers had closure when it came to Harry's story. Yet, there were so many other storylines left somewhat open, leading many to long for more. One of those was another alien from Harry's species landing on Earth to finish the job Harry was sent to do. It offered a chance to see another alien redemption story, and hinted that Harry's arc wasn't the first to ever happen. While Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv finally saw eye-to-eye about aliens on Earth, the ending was left open in a way that could create a new and fascinating storyline. They became secret agents, watching out for alien activity, and a real final season could have shown just how expertly they work together with Alien Ethan on the loose and help reunite Ben and Kate's family. D'Arcy's character gained growth that was realistic and refreshing, with her not quite losing all of her destructive ways, but still finding a way forward after her Olympic failure. Meanwhile, Asta figured out what she wanted to do with her life, and the cancellation cut that growth short. On top of that, not every Resident Alien character has learned about the existence of aliens. Overall, Resident Alien deserves another season because of its high-quality storytelling. It always remained respectful of people's stories of seeing aliens, and it captured the heart of humanity through each arc. A great show deserves to end on its own terms, and not with a rushed ending.
