Each season, Prime Video's Reacher teams the titular character with new allies as he stumbles across a fresh conspiracy, creating some fascinating dynamics. Despite being a drifter and a lone wolf capable of taking on entire armies by himself, Reacher finds himself with a small group every season willing to provide assistance on his investigations. Some relationships form quickly and organically, while others take time to come around to Reacher's unique personality. Regardless, there is always someone who has the protagonist's back, allowing him to take down sinister villains and expose major criminal organizations, which is what makes the show so consistently entertaining. While other factors are obviously important, the crew around the main character often has a direct impact on how well each season of Reacher ranks compared to the others. So, here's how his closest allies stack up to one another from worst to best. 11 Steven Eliot Image via Prime Video Putting Steven Eliot at the bottom of the list may be harsh due to his limited screen time, but it's also the direct reason he's Reacher's worst ally. The two barely spent any time together throughout the story, and even characters like Monique and Sampson, who weren't part of his main group during their respective seasons, had a bigger impact on the protagonist. Eliot still played his part in exposing Quinn and taking him down, even losing his life in the process. However, it was his own naivety that got him killed, and he didn't strike up much of a relationship with Reacher throughout season 3, making him a clear last place, despite being a sympathetic hero. 10 Russell Plum Although he did manage to piece together a few vital pieces of information, Plum largely acted as a bit of comic relief throughout Reacher season 4, and took a backseat during the actual action sequences. He did take a bullet, albeit unintentionally, and his dynamic with Alan Ritchson's character was enjoyable whenever they shared the screen. Still, Plum's overall role was limited, and he had a far weaker bond with Reacher compared to most allies. Without him, Reacher season 4's ending may have been very different, and he deserves credit for stepping up despite having no combat skills, but he's a long way off from being the protagonist's most memorable companion. 9 Jacob Merrick Image via MovieStillsDB Another key member of the squad in season 3, Jacob, was heavily involved in the story since his sister's death kicked off the entire case, but he was relatively divisive among fans. Jacob embodied what it would be like for a pretty ordinary cop to be involved in a massive conspiracy that was out of his league, and the results were pretty mixed. For as endearing as his sincere personality was, Jacob felt like a liability at times, often rushing into danger that he couldn't quite handle. Although he had his fair share of heroic moments, Reacher is used to teaming with much more competent fighters and investigators, which explains why his relationship with Jacob didn't leave a lasting impression. 8 Guillermo Villanueva Villanueva is by far one of Reacher's most underrated characters. Not only did he have a pretty hilarious dynamic with the lead character, but he was also very useful when he got his hands dirty. From helping Reacher flip a car to having a one-on-one brawl with one of Quinn's goons, Villanueva held his own and was likable the entire time. He held Reacher to account without feeling like the know-it-all veteran type, and even managed to subvert common action tropes by surviving. The fact that he went from questioning our favorite leading man to joking around with him shows the two got on well, and Villanueva was certainly a valuable ally to have around in season 3. 7 Karla Dixon Having had plenty of history even before her first appearance in Reacher season 2, Dixon's relationship with Reacher only got stronger in the Bad Luck and Trouble adaptation. As a member of the 110th Special Investigations Unit, it was clear right from the start that Dixon was going to be a great ally, and her military background meant she was constantly useful. Obviously, Dixon being Reacher's love interest in season 2 meant they had a rather special bond, making her one of the closest people to the protagonist. Their chemistry was undeniable, and she'd risk her life for Reacher without question, cementing her as one of his best allies to date. 6 Susan Duffy With how important and reliable Dixon is, it's almost baffling to think Reacher has a single better ally, let alone multiple, but Duffy narrowly beats her. While she may not have the same history with Reacher that Dixon does, Duffy made a big impression early on, and it was no surprise that they became romantically involved throughout the latter stages of season 3. That said, Duffy was extremely fearless for a regular DEA agent, and she never backed down from danger. She risked everything to save Teresa, including accompanying Reacher on a covert mission where they stormed a boat, which wound up being one of the most intense moments of the entire season. Her loyalty is unquestionable, and she even helped take down Quinn in the finale despite the high stakes. Dixon was arguably a better love interest and a more capable fighter, but with Duffy throwing herself on the line for those closest to her, she just comes out on top as the stronger ally. 5 David O'Donnell Credit: MovieStillsDB David O'Donnell was a real highlight of season 2, as alongside being a long-term, competent ally, he also provided plenty of comedic and light-hearted moments as well. Despite his goofy, playful exterior, O'Donnell is a well-versed investigator, able to use his hunches to crack passwords while also slipping undercover with relative ease. He's no slouch in combat either, showing hand-to-hand and Marksman skills, which explains why Reacher recruited him as Captain all those years ago. The duo shared plenty of screen time together, showing their authentic relationship that contained plenty of banter, which emphasized what a surprisingly perfect friend O'Donnell is to Reacher. 4 Tamara Green Even if Tamara doesn't have the same history as Reacher's 110 Unit members, she did essentially become one of America's most wanted with him and lived to tell the tale. After starting on the wrong foot, Tamara quickly reevaluated and even embraced the protagonist's crusade, becoming one of the most crucial parts of taking down Lila and Amisha. She infiltrated a highly secure facility to extract information, managed to get the group several getaway vehicles, and was alongside Reacher during most of season 4's big action sequences, including the two being kidnapped. Despite all this, Tamara saw out the investigation, gaining newfound respect for the leading character, highlighting her dependability. In addition, being around her also changed the main character in Reacher season 4, as he was humbled in the latest installment, admitted to getting things wrong, and even accepted death when captured with Tamara. All this shows the impact she had on him, and they certainly made for a great on-screen pair. 3 Roscoe Conklin Image via MovieStillsDB Season 1 remains Reacher's best season four years later, and the main allies are a big reason why. Roscoe won over fans by being a small-town cop who formed a genuinely strong attachment with Reacher, one that turned romantic, making it impossible not to care about her. Roscoe is still Reacher's best love interest, but in addition to having the emotional connection, it's her bravery that is really endearing. She doesn't have the military training or special combat skills many of the other key allies do, yet she was determined to help in any way she could. Her no-nonsense, feisty attitude made her extra motivated not to be some damsel in distress, and between the love she had for Reacher and her frequently stepping up, Roscoe is easily a top-three ally in the Prime Video series. 2 Oscar Finlay As Chief of the Margrave Police Department, Oscar Finlay has a lot of pressure on his shoulders to keep the town safe, especially as murders arise, yet remains impeccably calm given the circumstances. His patience and strong judgment amplify why he's in such a position, but he's also capable of confessing to his mistakes. Despite his unassuming appearance, Finlay is pretty handy with a firearm, confidently walking into enemy territory with the intent to kill. Given his complicated history with Reacher, he could've easily severed ties the moment the protagonist left Margrave, but instead, he showed up in season 2 when his help was required. Even though their relationship was troubled throughout large parts of season 1, Finlay and Reacher became very good allies as the two earned each other's respect, and the fact that Finlay is one of the only characters to show up in multiple seasons proves he is by far one of the best in the entire series.
