Sign in to your TheGamer account Despite not having an official release date to look forward to just yet, the developers of Alien: Isolation 2 have been teasing more than a few exciting details about the upcoming horror release. While fans have already been picking apart the scarce few details and teaser trailer we have to go on to see what the setting and story of the next game could be, we don't have to guess anymore. In addition to the new gameplay details making the rounds over the past few days, the developers of Alien Isolation 2 themselves recently hosted a Q&A interview on YouTube to discuss some of the most exciting aspects of the upcoming release. Everything We Now Know About Alien Isolation 2 Initially spotted by Shinobi602 on X, there is plenty of information to unpack from the 17-minute interview, but there are a few key gameplay details like how the Xenomorph will function and the differences between environments that stand out the most. In terms of where and when Alien Isolation 2 takes place, the story happens roughly a few months after the original game, this time on the planet of Kurosaki in an industrial mining town. On top of the far grittier interiors that are more reminiscent of Kurosaki as opposed to Sevastopol’s clean "Weyland-inspired" environments, the outdoors will play a major role in the gameplay loop. Alien Isolation 2's Xenomorph will even use the hostile environments of the planet against you, adapting to the extreme conditions and becoming even deadlier as you're exposed with fewer places to hide. On top of letting fans "experience Alien in a way you haven't before" thanks to the outdoor focus, the starring creature itself will be even more intelligent than the first game. Several of these changes also come from the new talent added to the development team, which is made up of a mix of developers who worked on the original game and new talent adding a unique spin on the experience that still focuses on a single Xenomorph, which has been described as a pure take on the Alien concept compared to the original film. An Experience That Sounds Well Worth The Wait Ever since the reveal trailer, now available on YouTube thanks to PlayStation, was shown at the Summer Games Fest earlier this year, another question fans have been asking is whether or not the sequel would include microphone detection, which Alien Isolation 2's developers have confirmed will be returning for both consoles, and even PC for the first time. Alien Isolation 2 will also include a photo mode on release. Although we'll have to wait until closer to release for more information about the other enemies and obstacles you'll be facing in Alien Isolation 2, the sequel already seems like an incredibly promising upgrade from the original if the developers' testimonies are anything to go by.
