Alexander brothers sentenced to 30 years for sex trafficking

Prosecutors accused the three men of using their wealth and influence to lure women to their properties, where they drugged and raped them.MANHATTAN (CN) — Socialite brothers Oren, Alon and Tal Alexander were sentenced to 30 years in prison on Tuesday following their all-count convictions on sex trafficking crimes. The trio was found guilty of raping multiple women between 2009 and 2017, including 11 who testified during their five-week trial earlier this year. Prosecutors said the brothers followed a consistent “playbook,” using their wealth and influence to lure women to their properties, drug and assault them. Some women testified the brothers raped them by force despite pleas to stop. Others said they were too inebriated to speak. The brothers did not testify in their defense. The trial sent shockwaves through the real estate industry, where Oren and Tal Alexander were luxury brokers to celebrity clients including Leon Black, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Alon Alexander was an executive at his family’s private security company.Prosecutors sought life sentences for the brothers, citing the grisly nature of their crimes. In a sentencing submission, they noted that many assaults were filmed, including Oren Alexander’s rape of a “nearly comatose 17-year-old girl.”One woman, testifying under the pseudonym Katie Moore, said she believes Alon Alexander drugged her after an NBA watch party hosted by actor Zac Efron. Despite drinking very little, she said she quickly lost control of her body and blacked out, later waking to a naked Alon Alexander standing over her.“The first thing I said to him was, ‘I don’t want to have sex with you,’” Moore testified. “And his response was to laugh in my face and say, ‘You already did.’”The government also noted that sexual assault accusations against the Alexanders date back to the early 2000s, when they were in high school. The Alexanders’ lawyers sought 15-year sentences, portraying the brothers as family men and hardworking sons of immigrants. Each is a father, and Oren Alexander’s only child was born while he was in federal custody. The brothers have spent roughly two years at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since their 2024 arrests.Subscribe to our free newslettersOur weekly newsletter Closing Arguments offers the latest about ongoing trials, major litigation and rulings in courthouses around the U.S. and the world, while the monthly Under the Lights dishes the legal dirt from Hollywood, sports, Big Tech and the arts.Additional Reads
