Alex Warren Earns Second Consecutive U.K. No. 1 Album With ‘Wildchild’

Explore See latest videos, charts and news The achievement follows You’ll Be Alright, Kid, which reached the summit in July 2025 and spawned the Californian singer’s global smash hit “Ordinary”; the hit lasted 13 weeks atop the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart. He supported the release with a U.K. arena tour in April, which included two nights at London’s 20,000-capacity O2 Arena. Reacting to the achievement, Warren told the Official Charts Company: “This is absolutely insane, and I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys were the first ones to ever believe in me, and I hope I can get over there [to the U.K.] pretty soon and do some shows. I love you so, so much!” Manchester indie unit The Courteeners secure the runner-up spot with greatest hits compilation God Bless the Band. Michael Jackson’s The Essential follows at No. 3, while Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love remains at No. 4. Dolly Parton’s Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection rounds out the top five following the country music icon’s death on Aug. 25. Bananarama’s True Confessions vaults to a new peak of No. 6 following the release of its 40th anniversary edition. The result earns the British pop group its highest charting U.K. album in 38 years, following 1988’s The Greatest Hits Collection. The Warning appears on the Official Albums Chart for the first time at No. 16 with Everything’s Falling, while further down the chart, Steve Hackett and Steve Rothery’s new collaborative effort, The Roaring Waves, finishes at No. 24. Mastodon secures its sixth U.K. top 40 album with Marrow Deep at No. 27, while former Beastie Boy Mike D lands his first solo entry as Thank You debuts at No. 28.
