Alec Baldwin called the “Rust” shooting and his manslaughter trial “me at my worst” in the trailer for a new documentary. Moxie FIlms His wife, Hilaria Baldwin, is shown dealing with the intense media attention on the case. “The paparazzi are already coming,” the mom of seven tells Alec. “You need to take the kids out of town.” In the next scene, someone on the street can be heard shouting at Alec, “You killed someone by accident. How do you feel?” After footage plays related to Alec being charged in Hutchins’ death, he says, “If you said to me, ‘Hike up Mount Everest and she’ll come back,’ I’d be packed and ready to go.” “Whatever I could do,” he adds. “But there’s nothing you could do.” Alec is shown dealing with the aftermath of the shooting, and being charged in the case, in the trailer. Moxie FIlms In another segment, the “SNL” alum talks about his 2024 trial, which ended in his favor. “I want to be acquitted so I can walk out the door and everybody just leave me alone,” he says. “I never dreamed of my life that this would come down to this.” At the end of the trailer, Alec says that “people who watch this will see so much of me at my worst.” According to Variety, Rory — sister of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — began filming Alec in 2023, and was given full access to the actor’s life throughout his trial. “This story is a tricky one because there is Halyna, who is the victim in this story, and I, of course have enormous empathy for Halyna and her family given my own background and experience,” Rory told the outlet. Thanks for signing up! “But I think there should be room to see how there can be more than one victim,” she added. “There can be a spectrum of victims in different situations, and it’s important to have space for that.” On Oct. 21, 2021, Hutchins was shot and killed after a prop gun that Alec was holding went off on the set of “Rust” in New Mexico. The movie’s director, Joel Souza, was also injured during the incident. Two years later, Alec was charged with involuntary manslaughter and pleaded not guilty.
