Aldi discontinues ‘sell-out’ chocolate bar as shoppers slam the ‘new substitute isn’t HALF as good’

ALDI has scrapped a popular chocolate bar from supermarket shelves, leaving customers disappointed. The treat has vanished from the discounter’s supermarket aisles in recent weeks. They raised the issue on X, asking the supermarket: “Have you stopped selling large Choceur dark chocolate bars? Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! “Dark was the most popular so always sold out first which was so annoying, but now it seems to be unavailable.” Aldi responded and confirmed the item was no more. “Sorry to say that we have discontinued this item at this moment in time we apologise for any inconvenience caused by this,” they explained. On Facebook, fans have also made calls for the product to make a return to shelves. One said: “Aldi UK please bring back the Choceur plain dark chocolate bar! The new substitute you have is not half as good!! You have all the flavours of the choceur bars except for dark chocolate.” The large bar of chocolate contained 45% cocoa solids and was in the past described as “awesome” by fans of the treat.
