Specifically: Earn 60,000 Atmos Rewards bonus points and a $99 Companion Fare (plus taxes and fees from $23) after spending $3,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days Earn an additional 20,000 Atmos Rewards bonus points after spending a total of $5,000 or more on purchases within the same 90-day period Based on my latest miles & points valuations, Atmos Rewards points are worth 1.5 cents each. That means the 80,000 bonus points are worth $1,200, and that doesn’t factor in the value of the $99 Companion Fare. Even if you’re not convinced on the long term value proposition of the card, I absolutely think it’s worth giving a try, given all the uses of Atmos Rewards points. For those curious about the $99 Companion Fare, you just have to additionally pay taxes and fees from $23. The $99 Companion Fare is valid for 12 months from when it’s issued, for travel on Alaska or Hawaiian within the Americas, including for travel in the state of Hawaii. This is valid for tickets in economy, and all revenue economy fare classes qualify. Read my review of the Atmos Rewards Ascent Visa Card. The Atmos Ascent Card $99 Companion Fare can save you money Atmos Rewards Ascent Card eligibility & bonus FAQs Who is eligible for the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card? Eligibility for the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card is unrelated to having any other Atmos Rewards or Bank of America card. So you should be eligible for this card, including the welcome bonus, as long as you don’t have and haven’t had this exact card. What credit score do you need for the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card? There isn’t a published minimum credit score for the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card. In general, I’d consider this a card for applicants with good to excellent credit, but your credit score is only one factor Bank of America considers. Your overall credit history, existing relationship with Bank of America, recent applications, income, and other factors can all matter. If I had to give a number, ideally I’d hope to have a credit score of at least 700, and ideally, one over 740. Can you get the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card if you already have an Atmos Rewards credit card? You sure can! You’re potentially eligible for the welcome bonus on the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card if you already have the Atmos Rewards Summit Card or Atmos Rewards Business Card, so this is a way to rack up lots of points. How many points does the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card welcome bonus offer? The current welcome offer on the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card is up to 80,000 Atmos Rewards bonus points plus a $99 Companion Fare (plus taxes and fees from $23) upon completing minimum spending. That’s potentially a very substantial haul for a single credit card welcome offer. I value Atmos Rewards points at 1.5 cents each, so I consider the points component alone to be worth $1,200, before assigning any value to the $99 Companion Fare. Is the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card worth the $95 annual fee? I think the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card has the potential to be a great value. It has a reasonable annual fee, offers basic perks for travel on Alaska and Hawaiian, like a first checked bag free, preferred boarding, and more. You can also earn a $99 Companion Fare on the card, which could be quite valuable. Does the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card come with a $99 Companion Fare? Yes, the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card comes with a $99 Companion Fare (plus taxes and fees from $23) and that’s a benefit that’s offered the first year, and on account anniversaries in subsequent years, assuming you spend at least $6,000 per anniversary year. This is potentially very valuable, and could save you hundreds of dollars. Bottom line The Atmos Rewards Ascent Card has brought back an elevated limited time welcome offer. With this, you can earn 80,000 Atmos Rewards points plus a $99 Companion Fare after completing minimum spending. This card is absolutely worth picking up for the bonus, especially given that eligibility isn’t mutually exclusive with other Atmos Rewards cards. In the long run, the card can be worth it for the perks for travel on Alaska and Hawaiian, including the ability to earn a $99 Companion Fare. Now, if I were to get only one Atmos Rewards credit card, I’d go for the Atmos Rewards Summit Card, which is my single favorite airline credit card. However, there’s no reason you couldn’t pick up both cards. Anyone plan to pick up the Atmos Rewards Ascent Card with this great offer?
