Alan Ritchson On The ‘Reacher’ Season That Was Canceled After “Someone Got Re-Elected”

With a fifth season of Reacher underway, Alan Ritchson is still waiting to adapt his favorite book in the Lee Child series. The Jack Reacher actor recently revealed that was almost able to adapt the 1998 novel Die Trying for a season of the Prime Video series, as a fan on social media expressed their disappointment they haven’t yet adapted “the book where he kills his way through a white supremacist militia camp.” “My favorite book,” wrote Ritchson in response on Threads. “Fun fact: I had it approved until someone got re-elected.” While he still didn’t mention Trump by name, Ritchson’s latest jab comes after the White House responded to his comments implying that Trump should “go to jail” for his associations with Jeffrey Epstein. Watch on Deadline The second book in Child’s series, Die Trying follows Jack Reacher as he and a politician’s daughter are abducted by a radical militia, who want to use her as leverage to secede from the United States. Before Season 4 of Reacher premiered last month on Prime Video, the streamer gave it an early renewal for Season 5 back in May. The upcoming season adapts Make Me (2015), the 12th book in Child’s series, in which Reacher hitches a train to the Midwestern town of Mother’s Rest, where he helps private investigator Michelle Chang search for her missing colleague.
