Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, 'Rikan' discuss community development tracks

Nizwa: Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and the Energy Sector Social Responsibility Development Foundation "Rikan" discussed on Monday the mechanisms of directing social responsibility programmes toward developmental priorities in the governorate's wilayats, as well as the tracks for transforming community initiatives into sustainable projects with a measurable impact.This came during a meeting between Sheikh Mahmoud Rashid Al Saadi, Acting Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, and Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Al Gharibi, Chief Executive Officer of the foundation. The meeting was attended by the Walis of the governorate's wilayats, along with a number of officials and specialists from both sides. The meeting focused on aligning the needs of the wilayats with the foundation's areas of work, as well as the mechanism for submitting, studying, and evaluating initiatives. This aims to help identify priority projects and partnership opportunities regarding them, in accordance with the standards of sustainability and community impact.The "Rikan" foundation reviewed its operational system in managing the social responsibility efforts of the energy sector, its methodology for evaluating and selecting projects, and measuring the social return on investment. This is in addition to the areas targeted by its programmes in developing human capital, community infrastructure, the local economy, in-country value, and other social and developmental sectors.The methodology of "Rikan" is based on sustainability, governance, measuring the social return, and the extent to which projects are linked to the needs of local communities.During the meeting, the Walis discussed a number of needs and priorities in the governorate's wilayats, as well as the opportunities for including scalable initiatives within social responsibility tracks. This provides a more organised framework for coordination among the governorate, the wilayats, and the foundation in studying and following up on projects.
