A jailer accused of taking two female inmates out of Ajmer Central Jail without permission and making them clean her private flat has been arrested in Kota after being absconding for nearly two months, police said on Thursday.Divya Chaudhary, who had already been suspended in connection with the incident, was arrested on Wednesday and produced before a court, which sent her to judicial custody, police said.According to a senior police official, Shivam Joshi, Divya, posted as a jailer at Ajmer Central Jail took two women prisoners, Kiran and Sana, out of the jail in a private vehicle in July.The two inmates were serving life sentences in separate murder cases. Police said they were taken out without court permission and without any entry being made in the jail records. According to police, the two inmates were taken to Divya's private flat in Ajmer city, where they were made to clean the flat.Police said Divya and jail guard Sonia Chaudhary allegedly threatened women staff posted at the jail's main gate when they objected to the inmates being taken out. The prisoners were later brought back to the jail and a report on the incident was sent to senior officials, police said. A police case was filed in early August, following which Divya and Sonia were suspended. Joshi said police traced Divya's location through technical evidence and arrested her from a residential flat in Kota. Police are still searching for Sonia, who remains absconding.The case centres on the alleged removal of two inmates from Ajmer Central Jail without permission, their being taken to a private flat for cleaning work and the subsequent action against the two suspended jail staff, with one of them still on the run.- Ends
