A.J. Brown: Sometimes I'm pushing through ankle injury, but no excuses

Published October 29, 2026 09:18 AM Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown remained limited in practice on Wednesday with the ankle injury that had him on injured reserve for four games and has contributed to his underwhelming production since returning to the lineup.Brown has six catches on 16 targets in those two games and admitted in a Wednesday media session that he’s still not feeling as explosive as he’d like when he’s on the field. Brown said “sometimes I see it and sometimes I’m pushing through” before adding that nothing he’s dealing with is an explanation for falling short of his desired level of play. “I’m trying to put my best foot forward,” Brown said. “I know obviously I’m working through something, but it’s no excuses. I made none in the first week I was out there. The things I can control, I try to control. That’s the only thing. Again, I don’t look at anything as positive or negative, if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s information.”Brown got some extra time off with the Patriots playing last Thursday and we’ll see if that makes a difference in his production when the Patriots visit the Dolphins this weekend.
