Airlines Get More Time on Mumbai Airport Cuts — But the Move to Navi Mumbai Is Still Coming

NMIA India’s civil aviation ministry Tuesday asked Adani Airport Holdings, owner of the Mumbai Airport and Navi Mumbai Airport, to hold off on its plan to move a portion of international flights from Mumbai’s Terminal 2 to Navi Mumbai, giving airlines and the airport operator some time to work out a transition plan, sources told Skift. The intervention, however, does not signal a reversal of the plan. The ministry has asked airlines and Adani Airport to submit a firm roadmap for moving operations to Navi Mumbai, with the next meeting scheduled for October 13 and another expected by October 20 to finalize the plan, sources said.
