AI needs to have 'reasonable guidelines,' Palantir's Karp tells CNBC

"The first line of defense is you're liable for your own actions."Karp also argued for civil and criminal liability for those building technology capable of upending the world. If you're not doing anything about it, "you're not being responsible," he said. Karp's comments come as policymakers and tech leaders debate how to regulate sophisticated AI models after researchers warned of the technology's dire risks to humanity.
