Ahmedabad man stabs estranged wife after dispute, later dies by suicide

He later died by suicide on a railway track in Amreli district.According to police, 42-year-old Rekha Behan lived with her husband, Bhavesh Baraiya, in Amreli. The couple frequently argued, following which Rekha had been staying at the home of her 37-year-old sister, Sangeeta Goswami, in Ahmedabad for the past 10 days.Bhavesh reached Ahmedabad at around 5:30 am on August 29 to persuade Rekha to return. During their conversation, an argument broke out and escalated. Bhavesh allegedly attacked Rekha with a knife and stabbed her multiple times on different parts of her body.Rekha suffered injuries and was taken to Civil Hospital for treatment. Bhavesh fled the spot after the attack.Ahmedabad police registered a case under Sections 109 and 332(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 135(1) of the Gujarat Police Act and began an investigation.During the investigation, police learned that Bhavesh had died by suicide on a railway line in Dhasa, Amreli district.
