Ahead of iPhone 18 Pro, Apple launches Mac Mini and Mac Studio refresh in India

Apple just launched a new Mac Mini and Mac Studio in India. Here's everything you need to know about them.Apple has announced fresh new updates for the Mac Mini and Mac Studio with new, more powerful hardware. The Mac Mini, billed as a “pint-sized AI powerhouse”, is now available in a choice of M6 and M5 Pro silicon. The Mac Studio, which Apple claims is a “monumental step for AI”, is getting super-charged with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips. The Mac Mini refresh starts at Rs 99,900 in India. The Mac Studio update will set you back by Rs 2,79,900 at the very least. You will be able to buy both the devices starting September 22 with pre-orders starting soon after the announcement.Mac Mini 2026 update with M6 and M5 ProM6 on the new Mac Mini features a 12-core CPU — which is two more cores than the outgoing model —, a 12-core GPU, also with two more cores than before along with Neural Accelerators in each core, along with a dual 16-core Neural Engine paired with 16GB of unified memory (RAM) which you will be able to separately configure up to 32GB. Higher memory bandwidth up to 170GB/s is also available.Meanwhile, M5 Pro on Mac Mini features up to an 18-core CPU, up to a 20-core GPU with Neural Accelerators in each GPU core, and up to 64GB of unified memory with 307GB/s of memory bandwidth.Connectivity options, too, have been updated to latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, as well as 2.5Gb Ethernet with 10Gb available. Two USB Type-C ports on the front support USB 3 while on the back, there are three Thunderbolt 4 ports on the model with M6, and three Thunderbolt 5 ports on the version with M5 Pro. You also get a headphone jack in addition to HDMI. Mac Studio 2026 update with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chipsMac Studio with M5 Max come with an 18-core CPU with 6 super cores and 12 performance cores, up to 40-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, and up to 614GB/s of unified memory bandwidth. Apple calls the M5 Ultra version the ultimate pro desktop shipping with up to 36-core CPU with 12 super cores and 24 performance cores, up to 80-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, and up to 512GB of unified memory and 1.2TB/s of memory bandwidth.Apple says storage is twice as fast, with a next-generation SSD architecture built on PCIe Gen 6, while connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The Mac Studio can drive up to eight displays, or up to four Studio Display XDR at full 5K resolution and 120Hz, Apple claims.
