If you have a OnePlus device, the company confirms that it will continue receiving " software updates, security patches, and applicable support." Any warranties you have will still be valid, and if you require a phone repair or an after-sales service, you can still use OnePlus' support website. In addition, any phones that are eligible for the new ColorOS version can update to it. The update is voluntary, and if you don't like it, OnePlus says you can go back to OxygenOS. If your device isn't eligible for a ColorOS update, it will still receive maintenance updates. Unfortunately, not everything will survive.
