After Jamui and Samastipur, another video of woman harassment surfaces in Bihar’s Banka district

The Banka police have swung into action and registered a case against three accused.According to the Banka police, the incident came to light through social media on September 22, 2026, when youths in the 38-second video were found harassing a woman at Mandar Hills, a historic site. As per the police, the incident took place on June 3, 2026, under the jurisdiction of the Bounsi Police Station area.In a press statement on Friday (September 25, 2026), Banka police stated that an objectionable video came to their notice, and police immediately registered an FIR. “According to the information, an old (dated 03.06.2026) video was received on WhatsApp through social media on 22 September 2026. After registering Sanha (Informatory Petition), the armed forces team went to Mandar Hills and verified the site and examined the video,” police said.Police added that an investigation has been started by registering a case (Case No. 248/26) under section 74, 75, 76, 3(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and section 66E, 67A of the Information Technology (IT) Act.“The victim had gone to visit Mandar Hills with her two friends, where three youths in the viral video [Abdullah, Nitish Kumar Rai and Vikas Kumar] held hands and started abusing and threatening. Abdullah forced the victim’s friend to transfer ₹ 1,500/- to his account. After the money was received, the victim and two of her friends were allowed to go,” police said.Banka police asserted that continuous raids are underway by the police to arrest the three primary accused involved in the incident, and they will be arrested soon.Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav came down heavily on the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, saying that law and order in Bihar is on its deathbed.“After Jamui and Samastipur, now a video of the exploitation, indecent behavior, and assault of a minor girl at the historic tourist site Mandar Parvat in “Banka” has gone viral! The nominated puppet Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary is daily hollowing out the foundations of justice and civilized society in Bihar through his clumsiness, boastfulness, immaturity, impatience, anxiety, and unnecessary interference in police functioning,” Mr. Yadav said in a social media post on X.He further asked what happened to the remaining five accused in the Jamui case. He added, did the four accused in the Samastipur case get half punishment or full, or were they let off based on some equation?Leader of Opposition, Bihar Legislative Assembly, Mr. Yadav also alleged Bihar CM determines justice and punishment by looking at the caste identity of criminals.“Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary—answer why justice is served only after looking at the social background of the beasts who rape and mistreat minor girls?
