Patch 1.0.14 adds QoL: rebind 1–8, remove binds, radial wheel changes, toggle blocking, skip intro. After five years of early access, 1.0 finally makes Valheim the game it always aimed to be. Good things come to those who wait, which is excellent news for people who have been waiting patiently for an official way to rebind the dodge button in the newly launched title Valheim. Despite the game undergoing five years of early access, the devs have finally added a way to change what you press to dodge an incoming attack. Valheim's newest update adds a feature people had to previously mod in Better late than never Credit: Iron Gate AB As PC Gamer has spotted, Valheim has received a few updates since its grand release. While the game's v1.0 badge is brand new, it spent five years in early access, and yet it took this long to finally add a way to change the dodge key to something else. It got so bad that people were developing macros and mods simply to rebind the dodge button to something other than holding right-click and pressing Space while holding a direction. In fact, the entire 'Quality of Life' section in the patch notes for version 1.0.14 sounds like a delight. You can rebind the 1-8 keys, remove keybinds, and change the binds for the radial wheel. There's a new accessibility option that lets you toggle blocking instead of holding down a key, and there's a new setting that will auto-skip the intro. Fantastic stuff. Oh, and if you fancy taking Valheim wherever you want, the new patch adds "Multiple GPU performance improvements on Switch 2," which is always nice. If you're still on the fence about jumping back into this Viking delight, Tomas Franzese on our lovely sister site Polygon has been gushing about how Valheim’s 1.0 update is finally the game it was always meant to be.
