After DC's success, Wamiqa Gabbi roped in for Rishab Shetty's Jai Hanuman

Actor Wamiqa Gabbi's impressive run in 2026 appears to have landed her one of the biggest projects of her career. Fresh off the success of Tamil film DC, the actor has reportedly joined the cast of Prasanth Varma's upcoming mythological epic Jai Hanuman, headlined by Rishab Shetty.According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Wamiqa has been cast in a prominent role, although details about her character are being kept under wraps. She is expected to join the film's Hyderabad schedule in the coming weeks as production continues on the much-anticipated sequel to 2024-superhero film, Hanu-Man.The development comes at a time when Wamiqa is enjoying one of the busiest phases of her career. Following appearances in Bhooth Bangla and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, the actor is currently receiving praise for her performance in Arun Matheshwaran’s Tamil film DC. The film starring director Lokesh Kanagaraj in his acting debut, has also started strongly at the box office, grossing an estimated Rs 44.26 crore worldwide in its first four days.Meanwhile, Jai Hanuman is the sequel to Prasanth Varma's 2024 superhero film Hanu-Man and forms part of the expanding Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). While Teja Sajja led the first film, the sequel sees Rishab Shetty step into the role of Lord Hanuman. The film is being mounted as a large-scale mythological action drama exploring Hanuman's devotion, strength and presence in Kaliyug. Production on the film officially began earlier this year with a traditional launch ceremony at Anjanadri Betta in Hampi, a site widely associated with the birth of Lord Hanuman.
