After 8 Years, Jujutsu Kaisen's Final Canonical Release Is Officially 3 Months Away

Published Oct 30, 2026, 3:00 PM EDT Since graduating from The Los Angeles Film School, Jason has worked as an editor for the local news, as well as a producer of several short films and podcasts. His extensive knowledge of film production and narrative storytelling has enabled him to travel the world, writing about the projects he is passionate about in the realms of film, anime, and gaming. "Every Day Is A Level Up" SPOILER ALERT: THE SUBJECT OF THIS ARTICLE REVOLES AROUND A VIDEO CONTAINING MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR JUJUTSU KAISEN'S FINAL ARCNow that the Jujutsu Kaisen story has reached its epic conclusion in the manga, fans are anxiously awaiting the anime's continuation, but another project is only months away. The final arcs of Gege Akutami's hit series are filled with some of the story's greatest twists, battles, and artwork. And fans able to travel to Shinjuku, Japan will be able to get a deeper look into its creation than ever before. Including Jujutsu Kaisen, many of Shonen Jump's most popular series recently ended with a varying amount of satisfaction. But unlike My Hero Academia and Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen received its own short sequel series in the form of Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo. I personally thought it was a fantastic peek into the universe's future that also explored some of the story's remaining mysteries. However, the next project looks to focus on a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Akutami's artwork. Jujutsu Kaisen's Final Exhibit Dives Into Gege's Process The next official Jujutsu Kaisen release was teased in a trailer posted on the official Japanese Shōnen Jump YouTube channel. Jujutsu Kaisen Final Exhibition will be a special event showcasing concept art and previously unreleased work from the series’ mangaka Gege Akutami. Like the series' final epic battle against Ryomen Sukuna, the exhibition will take place in Shinjuku, where Japanese fans and those hardcore enough to travel will be able to visit while it’s open from December 25, 2026 to January 25, 2027. Fans who have only watched the anime will want to avoid watching the trailer for the upcoming event because it contains concept art that will eventually evolve into some of the series' most surprising twists. It also includes early drafts of iconic moments that have already been adapted in the anime, like the triple Domain Expansion, Sakuna's Divine Flame Arrow, and a lot more that eagle-eyed viewers can spot. It's a fascinating look at the earliest stages in the creation of one of the world's best-selling franchises. A Rare Peak Behind The Jujutsu Kaisen Curtain Custom Image by Vanessa Piña It's unlikely that material from the sequel series, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, will be featured at the upcoming exhibit because it was written by Gege but drawn by Yuji Iwasaki. The artwork in the original series has a distinct art style that helped it pop compared to other manga, especially those published through Shōnen Jump. And its artwork evolved considerably throughout the series' six years of publication, something that the upcoming exhibit will likely highlight. In Jujutsu Kaisen’s final arcs, several lingering mysteries were explored, and battles readers had waited years to see delivered action beyond expectations. Characters like Gojo and Sukuna finally got opportunities to go all out, while Yuji Itadori's potential finally reached peaks that his mentor always believed he was capable of. Season 4 of the anime, which is currently titled Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 2, is not coming out until sometime between mid-2027 and 2028. Hopefully, more details about its release will be shared during Jump Fiesta 2027 this coming December. While the manga's final chapters were not celebrated by the entire community, it and the Modulo sequel were able to provide a more satisfying conclusion than other popular manga. Since the manga has concluded and MAPPA is busy cooking the final seasons of the anime, the Jujutsu Kaisen Final Exhibition in Shinjuku will be the next closest release for the franchise and the last related to the manga, possibly ever.
