Actor Rio Raj’s Ram in Leela trailer was unveiled on Wednesday, offering a glimpse into an unusual romantic comedy. The film, which is slated for a release in August, follows a man who falls for a woman. She tells him that he is both the friend she likes and the boyfriend she likes, which causes chaos in life.The trailer opens with Ram navigating a series of arranged marriage meetings, where prospective brides and their families reject him for various reasons. Frustrated by his repeated failures, Ram nearly gives up on finding a partner.Things change when he meets Leela, played by Vartika, on a train. The two fall for each other, and it initially seems like Ram has finally found the woman he has been waiting for. However, Leela has one unusual condition — she cannot see Ram after 6 pm.The trailer also introduces Ram’s close male friend, who appears equally invested in his love life. As the story unfolds, Ram tells her that he doesn't want to marry her, but she tells him that he's the friend and boyfriend she likes. The trailer promises a quirky romantic comedy built around love, marriage and mistaken identities. Directed by debutant Ramachandran Kannan, Ram in Leela marks Vartika’s acting debut. The film also stars Balaji Thiyagarajan Dayalan, Munishkanth, Chetan, Deepa Venkat, Malavika Avinash and Nayana Elza, among others.The technical crew includes composer Ankit Menon, cinematographer Mallikarjun and editor YNC Shiva. The film is backed by R Ravindran and Sudharsan under the banners of Trident Arts and Eywa Entertainment.Ram in Leela is scheduled to hit theatres on August 21. It will clash at the box office with Modha Rathri, starring Rishikanth and Anishma Anilkumar.
