The injection, per the report, caused Norton to have an anaphylactic reaction, which in turn led to cardiac arrest. Norton, who had undergone bilateral shoulder construction, reportedly got the peptides from Dr. Jerzy Muchnicki after complaining he was suffering from fatigue, diminished physical recovery, muscle loss and shoulder pain. The action performer allegedly told Muchnicki that another physician had previously prescribed him peptides. Hours later, he injected a dose of each peptide, and then “complained of feeling hot and flushed” before he “became unresponsive.” Norton was rushed to the hospital, where he died, according to the coroner’s report. The coroner, David Ryan, is calling on the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) to review the benefits and safety risks of peptides, including the ones Norton was taking.
