He will report to Executive Director Saoud Al Mulla and lead investment activity spanning fund investments, co-investments and separately managed accounts across sectors including energy, digital infrastructure and hospitality.Winter most recently led Global Infrastructure Partners’ mid-market funds across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as the BlackRock Middle East Infrastructure Fund following BlackRock’s acquisition of GIP. Please try againThe appointment comes as ADIC expands its senior investment team and broadens its investment strategy. The investor, which manages more than $160 billion and operates as wealth fund Mubadala Investment Co.’s independently run investment arm, has in recent months increased its exposure to hedge funds, launched a secondaries business, and accelerated its push into insurance, while targeting annual returns of at least 10%.Winter’s recruitment is the latest in a broader hiring drive that has seen ADIC bolster its senior leadership with executives from some of the world’s biggest institutional investors. Ben Samild, the former chief investment officer of Australia’s Future Fund, joined as chief strategist late last year, while Alain Carrier, whose previous roles included head of international business at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, was appointed executive director of private equity. More recently, Simon Fraser, a senior member of the Future Fund’s investment team, joined as head of derivatives.
