Abhishek Malhan on Munawar Faruqui rivalry in The Traitors 2: He made it about ego

YouTuber Abhishek Malhan aka Fukra Insaan has dismissed his The Traitors Season 2 rivalry with stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui, insisting the clash ended with the game. While social media exploded with fan wars and unfollows, Abhishek maintained it was purely gameplay and that he has no regrets.“I don't look at any rivalry, honestly. For me, I came home; the game is over. Let me eat and sleep. Why should I keep crying about my exit?” he said in an exclusive interaction with India Today.The social media drama, however, is harder to dismiss. Addressing his alleged plotting against Munawar at the Circle of Shaq, the content creator said, “Honestly, I knew he was going to take my name. I had to save myself. And people need to understand Innocents will also get evicted in the game. It's also about saving yourself, which I did.” And then came the unfollow on Instagram, which Abhishek said was from the comedian's side. “He started sharing stories, and then unfollowed me; I never did. He also removed me as a follower. But I chose not to make this about ego. I will never make any statements that can lead to fan wars. I was also evicted by my friend (Shahneel Gill) but I will not keep crying about it. After all it's a game," he said. Abhishek added that the audience is yet to understand the format. According to him, The Traitors is not supposed to showcase anyone's 'real' personality. It is, by design, a game where contestants have to lie, manipulate and even turn against people they like. “It's a reality show that demands that you be fake. The people who think that Abhishek was different in Bigg Boss than he is on Traitors, it's true. I am a different person, as this game is different. Even the host Karan sir, (Karan Johar) is so different on this show. I think we'll need a couple more seasons before people can understand what this show really is about," he added.The content creator revealed that he had initially sworn off reality television after Bigg Boss OTT. However, The Traitors seems to have made him reconsider, allowing him to embrace a side of his personality that audiences rarely see online. He believes viewers have seen a very different Abhishek on the show, one who is quite removed from his usual online and offline persona. And now, he feels he can take more projects to connect with fans but will not want to go as a contestant. So, does he have any regrets? He instantly dismissed it, saying, “I'll still play the game, same way. This is a game of traitors, and it has to be played in a dirty way. If people don't understand this, then stop watching. But I think Dharmatic should have changed its game while choosing their Traitors.
