East Dunbartonshire was only slightly behind, with four schools also making the list, while Jordanhill School, in Glasgow, came top for the 10th year in a row.Exam league tables are not able to rank schools from ‘best to worst’, as they do not take into account factors such as teaching quality, the number of pupils with special educational needs or whether the school serves a disadvantaged area.Meanwhile, the Scottish Government says presenting exam performance figures in league tables is “misleading” because it overlooks such aspects but we are publishing them to provide parents with important information they can consider alongside inspection reports and other ways to assess the quality of local schools.Here are all 11 secondary schools in the Aberdeen City Council area - along with how many pupils from each come from deprived backgrounds, according to the Scottish Government - ranked from best to worst.Make sure you don't miss a moment of breaking news from across Scotland by signing up to our free newsletter here.1. Oldmachar AcademyOldmachar Academy is the best performing secondary in Aberdeen when it comes to exam results - and the 10th best in the whole of Scotland. 74 per cent of pupils leave with at least five Highers. Just 1.4 per cent of the school's 992 pupils are from the 20 per cent most deprived families in the country. | Google Maps2. Aberdeen Grammar SchoolWith 72 per cent of pupils earning at least five Highers, Aberdeen Grammar School takes second place in Aberdeen and 14th place Scotland-wide. 2.7 per cent of the school's 1,369 pupils are from deprived backgrounds. | Google Maps3. Cults AcademyCults Academy came third in the Aberdeen rankings and 16th in the Scotland table, with 71 per cent of pupils leaving with a minimum of five Highers.
