He was subsequently assaulted, police said.The policeman underwent a medical examination following the incident and is stated to be stable.The FIR has been registered under Sections 221 (voluntarily obstructing a public servant in the discharge of public functions), 132 (assault or use of criminal force against a public servant while they are discharging their duty) and 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).The FIR comes amid heightened tensions between the AAP and the Delhi government following a protest by the party demanding registration of a case against Delhi Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh over an alleged slapping incident in Tilak Nagar.This is the second FIR in two days involving AAP MLA Jarnail Singh. He was earlier booked on a complaint by the PWD for obstructing a public servant from discharging his duties and interfering with government work.The controversy began on Sunday (September 27) when a video surfaced purportedly showing Parvesh Sahib Singh, the Delhi PWD Minister, slapping a young man during an inspection of road works in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar. The man, identified as Saheb Singh, had alleged that he was recording the inspection and had pointed out defects in the road. AAP subsequently demanded action against the minister. Singh has denied the allegation and said AAP supporters had abused and misbehaved with him and his family.The Delhi Police had subsequently received a complaint from Saheb Singh. On Monday (September 28), the police registered a non-cognisable report against the minister under Section 115 of the BNS for voluntarily causing hurt, while a separate FIR was registered against Jarnail Singh on a complaint by a PWD official.
