The new A24 documentary, which was co-directed by Nathan Fielder (The Rehearsal) and Lance Oppenheim (Ren Faire, Primetime), follows the filmmakers spending time with Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes and her partner Billy Evans before Holmes' prison sentence. While the couple is seemingly being transparent with the documentarians, it seems that there is more to the situation than meets the eye. 2026's You Can See Everything debuted on October 16 after making a splash as a surprise screening at Telluride in September, with its $15.6 million opening weekend marking the second-best domestic debut for a non-concert documentary in history. On their official X account, A24 has announced that You Can See Everything "expands to 2500+ screens nationwide this weekend," which means that it will be playing in more than 1,645 additional theaters during its sophomore weekend, as its record-breaking debut saw it playing on just 855 screens. While A24 is known for opening many of their movies on limited screens before giving them wide expansions, this level of swift expansion is still relatively unusual, and typically only reserved for movies featuring A-list stars such as Marty Supreme (their Timothée Chalamet, which expanded wide over Christmas weekend) and Uncut Gems (which starred Adam Sandler). Below, see a breakdown of the wide expansions of A24's highest-grossing movies that debuted in fewer than 1,000 theaters: Title Wk 1 Wk 2 Wk 3 Wk 4 Wk 5 Wk 6 Marty Supreme (2025) 6 2,668 (+2,662) 2,887 (+219) Everything Everywhere All At Once (2023) 10 38 (+28) 1,250 (+1,212) 2,220 (+970) Uncut Gems (2019) 5 5 2,348 (+2,343) 2,686 (+338) Lady Bird (2017) 4 37 (+33) 238 (+201) 791 (+553) 1,194 (+403) 1,557 (+363) Moonlight (2016) 4 36 (+32) 83 (+47) 176 (+93) 650 (+474) It remains to be seen if A24's new documentary can replicate the success of its opening weekend, but so far the word of mouth is incredibly strong. One solid indication of this is that You Can See Everything reviews have earned it both a Certified Fresh score of 98% from critics and a Verified Hot score of 98% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, on Metacritic, it has a 97 out of 100 from critics and an 8.4 out of 10 from audiences, while its average Letterboxd score is a whopping 4.7 out of 5. More to come...
