WHEN Jack Kay strutted into an Ibiza nightclub sporting a razor sharp bowl cut and chunky chain last summer, he was just another lad on holiday with his mates. Eight seconds later his life changed forever as a clip of the road worker from Newcastle went viral, earning him the title Ibiza Final Boss. Now in an exclusive new interview, he reveals how he landed a string of brand deals, is set to appear in Celebrity SAS next year and has even insured his iconic hair for £1m. He even reckons his ‘aura’ made him famous and he has the same kind of appeal as Donald Trump as fans stop him in the street chanting his name and begging for selfies. Although he splashed out on whisking his mates back to Ibiza on a private jet and treated himself to a £55,000 Range Rover when he first hit the big time, Jack says he is being careful with his cash and has invested in a new house in Newcastle. He said: “My life changed upside down overnight. “I was just the average Joe. I worked on the roads doing groundwork. It was just get up, go to work, finish work, go to the gym, grab a sunbed. Just normal life. “If someone had said to me a year ago, ‘This time next year you’ll be a millionaire’ I’d have said, ‘Nah. No way.’ “It was God’s plan, 100 per cent. “I was back in Ibiza just the other day and had people running towards me for pictures. It was non-stop. “I’ve always got the time of day to have a picture with someone. I’m not stuck up.” The now-famous dance was never meant to be seen beyond his group of friends. Jack had headed to Ibiza for a lad’s holiday, enjoyed a few drinks and was dancing in open-air club Zero Six West when somebody happened to film him. The online attention quickly spilled over into real life. Strangers chased him through the streets, cars stopped in traffic and people begged for photos. He said: “Someone took a video of us and within a week it just went mad. He added: “It’s my aura. My swagger. My look. “It just attracts people. I’ve always had that, I’ve always been larger than life.” Unlike many viral sensations who disappear just as quickly as they arrive, Jack realised he had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and grabbed it. He recalled: “I thought opportunities don’t come by in life as good as that. “You’ve got to grab it and make the most of it. That’s what I done. “I realised my old life was gone forever. I thought, ‘You know what? He has plugged posts on Instagram for £2,000 a pop. The rewards have been extraordinary. He signed a five-figure clothing and collaboration deal with BoohooMan in August last year which sold out online in under 24 hours. Now he’s about to bring out his own range of hairspray called, unsurprisingly, Ibiza Final Boss. Jack says he has invested most of his earnings. His first purchase was a £55,000 car and he has just bought himself a new house in Newcastle. He said: “My first pay cheque bought me a Range Rover SVR. But I’ve invested the rest. “I’ve invested in businesses and property. I’ve got a financial adviser. I’ve been very sensible. He added: “There are lots of exciting TV opportunities coming up, and yes, some things are getting leaked. But watch this space. “You could be seeing us in a few TV shows. Strictly Come Dancing? Never say never. I’ve never done ballroom dancing but there’s always time to start. “I can pull anything off. “I would love to go on I’m A Celeb. Maybe Ant and Dec can get us on – being a fellow Geordie.” For now Jack has his hands full thanks to a two-year deal with Misfits Boxing, which pits influencers, musicians, reality stars and internet personalities against each other. Jack made his debut on the undercard of Tommy Fury’s clash with former strongman Eddie Hall in June, beating rapper Jordan McCann on points after a chaotic four-round contest. Jack said: “I’ve tilted more towards the boxing side of things now. I’m going out less – boxing keeps me disciplined, keeps my head right, keeps me in shape. “I’ve signed a multi-fight deal with Misfits Boxing. So for the next two years I’ll be busy with them. “I’m fighting in my home town, Newcastle. I’m fighting someone called Gareth Kelly, he’s a rapper. “I’ve loads of people backing me, including Anthony Joshua. They were together before his viral fame but the new party lifestyle strained and ultimately ended their relationship earlier this year. Speaking to The Sun previously, Jack said at the time: “I haven’t found Mrs Ibiza Final Boss yet, but probably a couple of years for that.” Despite embracing fame, Jack says becoming a father has helped keep everything in perspective. Monroe, 5, is not even aware of the internet phenomenon surrounding Jack – she just knows him as Dad: “When people come up asking for pictures, she just goes, ‘Daddy you’re famous.’ “But my relationship with my daughter and Ibiza Boss is completely different. She sees me as Dad.” Jack admits fame has also taught him some hard lessons, like how people he had not heard from in years suddenly wanted to be part of his life. But he believed it has also shown him what he is capable of. He said: “What I’ve learnt is people try to get what they can off you. It brings out the best and worst in people. “But I’ve also learnt how strong I am. I didn’t realise how tough I was. It’s been a lot. “There are a lot of benefits, but it’s been tough.” And if there’s one thing he has learnt from his extraordinary rise to notoriety, it is that life can change in an instant. He added: “I’d say to anyone, chase your dreams. “Don’t care what anyone’s got to say about you. Just go and smash life.”
