A very unexpected new couple confirmed in Coronation Street as Brian gets lucky

Of all the people! (Picture: ITV) Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) lives a simple, quiet life in Coronation Street, which is why I was very shocked to discover that he will soon spend the night with *checks notes* the woman who killed her husband. You’ll remember that Brian’s world used to be quite busy, as he worked as local teacher. In 2018, he was relentlessly bullied by deputy headteacher Phil, which resulted in Brian leaving the industry and becoming the new owner of The Kabin. His most recent love interest storyline featured Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh). The two characters were previously in a relationship, but they split up around 2016. When Julie returned to Weatherfield last year, she reconnected with Brian. Sadly, things came to an end when Julie died following her cancer diagnosis. He is followed by Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) of all people, and her family is shocked to discover that she’s spent the night with Brian. Clearly searching for something more, Brian quizzes Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) on how to woo Maggie. Maggie ends up revealing that her night was underwhelming and won’t be repeated, but has no idea that Brian has arrived with flowers!
