(Source: ITG)The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Health Department, in coordination with the Food Safety Department, seized around 70 quintals of suspected adulterated paneer during raids at multiple locations in Cuttack, Odisha.Authorities suspect that large quantities of adulterated paneer were being brought into the city to meet the rising festive demand. Samples of the seized paneer were collected and sent to a laboratory for testing, while the entire stock was subsequently destroyed at the Sati Chaura dumping yard.According to the CMC Health Department, further action against the concerned traders will be taken based on the laboratory test results. If the samples are found to contain adulterants or fail to meet prescribed food safety standards, appropriate legal action will be initiated.The civic authorities have also intensified inspections of food outlets and supply chains across Cuttack ahead of the festive season to prevent the sale of adulterated food items and safeguard public health.
