AgiBot led the global market with 30.4 percent of installations in 2025, according to figures covered by the South China Morning Post. Its success has been driven by mass production, an open-source strategy, and robots designed for manufacturing, logistics, entertainment, research, and customer-facing roles. 3. These machines are being developed for automotive manufacturing, material handling, quality inspection, component sorting, logistics, and repetitive assembly operations. The Walker S2 can replace its own battery, helping it resume work without relying on a person to connect it to a charger. UBTech shipped 1,079 full-size humanoids in 2025, although a Reuters investigation found that humanoids generally remain too slow and error-prone for most industrial work. 6. Apptronik Texas-based Apptronik traces its origins to robotic projects connected to NASA’s Valkyrie humanoid program. Its Apollo robot is designed to perform activities including moving materials, delivering components, inspecting products, tending machines, assembling kits, and completing warehouse orders. Apptronik has secured commercial agreements with Mercedes-Benz and logistics company GXO while partnering with Google DeepMind to integrate Gemini-based intelligence. The company has also raised more than $935 million, giving it substantial resources to improve Apollo and establish large-scale manufacturing operations. 7. Boston Dynamics Boston Dynamics has spent decades developing robots capable of performing movements that once appeared impossible for machines. Its fully electric Atlas humanoid combines powerful actuators, flexible joints, advanced perception, autonomous mobility, and hands designed to manipulate objects inside industrial environments. The Hyundai-owned company is now transforming Atlas from an experimental platform into a commercially useful manufacturing robot. It is also working with Google DeepMind on AI capabilities, while Hyundai plans to introduce production versions of Atlas at its factories. Humanoid robots still have work to do Despite their rapid progress, today’s humanoids cannot match people at handling unpredictable situations or completing varied tasks without assistance.
