The 6th edition of the prestigious Amanyanabo Football Tournament has officially been announced, featuring a revamped Under-18 format and an expanded 20-team lineup. This milestone coincides with the historic 30th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty, the King of Bonny Kingdom, Amanyanabo of Bonny. To be held in Bonny Kingdom, Rivers State, the Amanyanabo Football Tournament is an initiative borne out of the King’s vision. Having played football as a youth, His Majesty created the annual tournament as a vehicle to empower, develop, and expose young athletic talent across Bonny Kingdom. The event is sponsored by Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), organised by Grafton Entertainment, and supported by the Bonny Local Government Council. To foster talent development, the new Under-18 format features 20 teams. Eight teams will compete in playoffs on November 14th and 15th, 2026, for the four remaining main tournament slots. Those four qualifiers will join 12 seeded teams when the main competition begins on November 28, with the final to be played on December 13, 2026. With both local and international football scouts confirmed to attend, the 6th edition offers an unprecedented platform for aspiring players from Bonny Kingdom to showcase their skills on a global stage and pursue professional sports careers.
