66,000 passengers book railway tickets digitally per day in Salem Division, says DRM

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Salem Division Panna Lal said nearly 66,000 passengers book tickets digitally every day from stations across the division.The Salem Division, in association with a private hospital, organised a marathon on Sunday to promote fitness, digital ticketing, and wider adoption of the RailOne App. Mr. Panna Lal flagged off the marathon at Mahatma Gandhi Stadium.The DRM later told reporters that the Indian Railways launched the RailOne app as a comprehensive digital platform offering ‘One App-Complete Rail Solution’, enabling passengers to book reserved and unreserved tickets and access multiple railway services through a single, user-friendly interface.Southern Railway has made significant progress in digital ticketing, with 88% of reserved tickets being booked through digital channels. The RailOne App, which accounts for 14% of unreserved ticket bookings, reflects the growing acceptance of digital services among passengers, he said.Stating that Salem Division continues to lead this digital transformation with 92% digital booking in the reserved segment and 13% in the unreserved segment, Mr. Lal said nearly 66,000 passengers book tickets digitally every day from stations across the division. The stadium also featured an attractive RailOne selfie point and awareness gallery. The initiative effectively highlighted the advantages of digital ticketing, paperless travel, and sustainable mobility, the DRM added.R. Saravanan, additional DRM and Y.
