6 juveniles held for assaulting man with knives in Kasimedu

The police apprehended six juveniles for allegedly assaulting a 36-year-old man at his residence in Kasimedu after a dispute over his relationship with a married woman.The police said S. Parthi of Singaravelan Nagar worked as a fisherman. His wife left him six years ago, and he was reportedly in a relationship with a married woman. A 17-year-old relative of the woman, along with his friends, met Parthi a few days ago and warned him against continuing the relationship.Late on September 19, when Parthi was sleeping at his house, the juvenile and his friends allegedly broke in and attacked him with knives before fleeing the spot. Parthi was admitted to the Government Stanley Hospital.Based on Parthi’s complaint, the Kasimedu police registered a case, including charges of attempt to murder, and launched an investigation. The police traced six juveniles allegedly involved in the attack — three aged 17 and three aged 16. Two knives allegedly used in the assault were recovered from them.The police said one of the 17-year-olds already had two criminal cases, including one for murder, against him.
