After a lengthy rescue operation, the team safely removed the snake from the house. Watch the video here:Anil said increasing urbanisation and ongoing construction were rapidly reducing forests and fields, leaving snakes with less natural habitat and food. As a result, snakes are increasingly entering residential areas and homes in search of rats and other food. He said around 70 snakes were rescued in Gurugram in August alone, while the total number of rescues had crossed 200 in the past three months.Residents have been advised to remain vigilant during the monsoon season. Anil Gandas suggested avoiding sleeping on the floor at night, using mosquito nets and keeping food covered to prevent attracting rats, which can draw snakes into homes. He also urged people to seek immediate medical attention in case of a snake bite and get anti-venom treatment instead of relying on home remedies.- Ends(With inputs from Neeraj Vashishta) Published On: Aug 31, 2026 12:35 IST
