6% education budget will be a reality soon: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said India would soon allocate 6 per cent of GDP to education. He said stronger public investment was essential to keep education accessible and value-based.RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday at the IIMUN 15th anniversary event in Mumbai said he was confident that India would soon achieve the long-standing goal of allocating 6 per cent of its GDP to education. He said the objective had the support of all stakeholders.Speaking at the 15 Years of IIMUN event, Bhagwat said, "We support a 6 per cent allocation of GDP for education. It will become a reality soon." The event marked 15 years of the Indian International Model United Nations and brought together students, educators and public figures to discuss leadership, education and youth empowerment.Highlighting the importance of education in nation-building, Bhagwat said spending on education should be seen as an investment in the country's future rather than as expenditure.He said quality education must remain accessible and should be able to nurture responsible and capable citizens. Addressing students and young participants at the event, Bhagwat underlined the need for an education system that not only imparts knowledge but also builds character, values and a sense of responsibility towards society.He said education should contribute to the making of responsible citizens.
