Calm, fiercely capable, and seemingly impossible to intimidate, Neagley has always felt like one of the most intriguing members of Jack Reacher's inner circle. That makes her transition from a supporting character to the lead of her own series exciting. Neagley gives one of Reacher's most mysterious allies a chance to step out of his shadow and prove she can carry a story entirely on her own. The first season of the Prime Video action series wastes little time establishing that Neagley's world is every bit as dangerous as Reacher's. Her investigation pulls her into a conspiracy filled with powerful enemies and personal stakes. While the season offers plenty of satisfying action and eventually resolves several central mysteries, it deliberately leaves enough loose threads behind to make viewers wonder what comes next. By the time the finale's credits roll, Neagley has survived another impossible situation, which could have consequences far beyond the events of season 1. Is Neagley Season 2 Happening? So far, Neagley has received great reviews from critics and audiences alike. The series holds a 92% critics' rating and an 84% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, an impressive feat for a character who didn’t have many scenes in Lee Child’s novels. With shows being canceled left, right, and center these days, even with good ratings, Neagley's future is still uncertain. However, like Reacher, the show has a formula primed for longevity. The season finale of Neagley saw her become the head of her own firm, thereby leaving the door open for her to take on new cases and solve new mysteries. With that in mind, Prime might be interested in continuing the series; after all, it seems nearly as popular as Reacher and has the same addictive quality. Neagley's creator, Nicholas Wootton, also recently confirmed that season 2's storylines are already written, "should [they] be so lucky" (via Collider). Will Neagley's Team Return If Season 2 Happens? One reason Reacher works so well is that each season introduces a new cast of characters and a different setting. This is also a double-edged sword, however, because audiences get attached to characters they might never see again. Neagley solves that problem by introducing Chicago as its home base, a city the primary protagonist doesn’t seem intent on leaving. Though Neagley is very much like Reacher in that she prefers to work alone, she still ends up with a team that comprises Renee, Keno, and Riley. The title character has bought a private investigator firm, so being a wanderer might not be in the cards for her. After Riley was made fun of at the police station, he might want to ditch it for Neagley’s firm. That, combined with Renee’s desperation to be a PI and Keno’s happiness at finally finding a family, means the whole team is likely going to be back in Neagley season 2. Prime Video (via MovieStillsDb) Neagley is known for two things: her love for cereal and her aversion to touch. Season 1 of the Prime Video series saw the titular character finally discover why she does not like being touched. In fact, she made significant progress towards curing her haphephobia by shaking Reacher’s hand at the end of the final episode and beginning to see a therapist. While the progress Neagley has made in dealing with her haphephobia is impressive, she isn’t ready for full touch, which begs the question of what will happen next between her and Riley. The series has established that the two characters have feelings for each other. They can’t simply jump into a relationship, though, especially with everything Neagley is dealing with, from the death of her father to her fear of touch. However, it does seem like there is hope that something will blossom between them because Neagley didn’t turn down Riley. She isn’t ready for a romantic relationship yet, but that could change somewhere down the line. Are Renee & Keno An Item Now? Neagley included action, mystery, and conspiracies, but it took some time to lay the groundwork for a possible love story between Keno and Renee. After Keno escapes Echo Canyon Farm, he and Renee share a heartwarming moment and a kiss. The season finale, however, did not give a clear answer about whether they are a couple. The logical conclusion is that someone as level-headed as Renee wouldn’t make a move on someone without real feelings, but some things could stand in the way of their romance. Given that the two will likely be working together, with Renee as a PI and Keno as Neagley’s intern, it would be interesting to see whether they will choose to enter a romantic relationship despite their professional obligations. Keno is also younger than Renee, which might be another hurdle for them to overcome before becoming an item. Of course, Keno agrees to help his love interest find her brother, which will play a big role in them becoming closer, but what happens next remains to be seen. Will Neagley Come To Terms With Her Father's Death? Neagley’s relationship with her father has always been a huge part of her life, ever since her mother died when she was young. Because of how close they were, it made it even more devastating that he died. Unfortunately, just before Neagley’s father succumbed to his illness, she discovered that he was responsible for her haphephobia and lied to her for years about what caused it. Though Neagley’s season finale showed that she was handling his death as best as she could, it would be premature to assume that it is not weighing on her soul. Given that the last time the two saw each other, they had a fight which led him to go into cardiac arrest, they never made amends. Neagley eventually found out that her father was trying to protect Tommy Crane and didn’t keep the secret to hurt her, making it even sadder that she never got the chance to tell him she understood his actions. Will Alan Ritchson's Reacher Continue To Make Cameos? Image via MovieStillsDB Neagley was introduced to the Reacher franchise as a guest star in season 2. She became a fan favorite character, and Prime Video decided to give her a solo show. Reacher's stoic leading man appeared in the spinoff series at the beginning of the show and in the final episode, where he told her she could have called if she needed his help. This, of course, indicates Reacher might have more appearances in Neagley in a potential second season. Since the series just dropped all of its episodes recently, news of season 2 is nonexistent. But fans of both Reacher and Neagley can hope they'll share more screen time. There are various ways this can happen, especially now that Neagley has taken over Gerry York’s business. Reacher could pop in once in a while when needed and vice versa. It would be unrealistic to expect Jack Reacher in every episode of Neagley, but we can at least hope for a few more cameos.
