56 lakh pattadar passbooks will be distributed by March 2027, says Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu

Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that 56 lakh new pattadar passbooks would be distributed to landowners by March 2027 by completing the land resurvey exercise covering 8,232 villages. Addressing a gathering of farmers during the ‘Mee Bhumi-Mee Hakku’ programme at Machavaram village of Ambajipeta mandal in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, Mr. Naidu said, “Nearly 36 lakh pattadar passbooks have been issued, and 56 lakh more books will be issued by March 2027. In September, 4 lakh pattadar passbooks have been issued.”Mr. Naidu announced that the pattadar passbooks were being distributed during gram sabhas to ensure transparency and prevent corruption.Section 22 (A) listReferring to Section 22 (A) of the Registration Act, 1908, the Chief Minister said,“ Nearly 16 lakh acres of land will be excluded from the prohibited list by March 2027. In every district, land disputes pending for decades have been settled during the land resurvey exercise.” The Section 22 (A) prohibits land registration and land transfer. Alleging that the land records were tampered with and boundaries were altered during the land survey exercise undertaken during the YSRCP’s tenure, Mr. Naidu said the new pattadar passbooks with the government emblem cannot be tampered with as the data is digitally protected with robust technology. “Our government is committed to protecting people’s land,” he said.“The land mutation is now guaranteed immediately after the registration is done. People can check their land details and status online after the land registration process is done,” he said.Stone laid for power gridMr. Naidu also laid the foundation stone for the modernisation of a power grid with an estimated cost of ₹240 crore at Machavaram village. Executed by Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL), the modernisation of the power grid includes laying a 742-km cable network and a 524-km bunched cable across Konaseema district.The power grid aims to supply power to 2.37 lakh consumers, in addition to meeting the needs of the aquaculture sector.
