Courtesy of Prensa HEAT The HEAT Latin Music Awards, popularly known as Premios HEAT, were held for the first time in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on Thursday (Nov. 5). The ceremony attracted a slew of stars, including Gloria Trevi, Olga Tañón, Los Ángeles Azules, Jessi Uribe, Arthur Hanlon, La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho and Piso 21. The event, which took place at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center and was broadcast live on LosHeat.tv and Jalisco TV, celebrated a variety of genres, including regional Mexican music, pop, urbano, cumbia, reparto and reggaetón. Joining the event were artists such as Ha*Ash, Majo Aguilar, Mar Solís, Dayanara, Paola Jara, Pututi & Nesty, Grupo 5 and Corridos Del Rey. One standout performances of the evening was a segment titled “Los que siempre viven” (“Those Who Live On”), where various artists sang timeless classics in tribute to late legends such as Selena, Vicente Fernández, José José, Paquita la del Barrio, Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, creating an emotional and heartfelt moment. Another highlight was the tribute to Puerto Rican merengue icon Olga Tañón’s career. Also known as “La Mujer de Fuego” (Woman of Fire), Tañon shared the stage with Mar Solís and Grupo 5, performing “Contigo o Sin Ti” with the former and the classic “Ya Me Cansé” with the latter. The Mexican-American sister duo Ha*Ash delivered a live performance of its new single “Antes Que Te Cases,” originally recorded with Cristian Castro, taking its pop music to new heights. Meanwhile, Gloria Trevi, who was honored this year as Artista Oro (Golden Artist) at the HEAT Latin Music Awards al Estilo Jalisco, closed the show with a vibrant medley of her greatest hits, including “Todos Me Miran,” “Me Lloras,” “Pelo Suelto” and “Con Los Ojos Cerrados.” The awards ceremony capped off HEAT Week, which ran from Oct. 31 to Nov. 5 in the state of Jalisco, coinciding with the traditional Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Carlos Rivera emerged as the night’s biggest winner, taking home three awards. Other notable winners included Karol G, Grupo Firme and Ovy on the Drums. For the full list of winners, click here. Here are five standout moments from the HEAT Latin Music Awards al Estilo Jalisco, organized in collaboration with the government of Jalisco and the municipality of Puerto Vallarta, in alphabetical order of the artists involved. Arthur Hanlon & Jessi Uribe The masterful piano of composer and arranger Arthur Hanlon joined forces with the impeccable vocals of Colombian popular music singer Jessi Uribe for a version of “Si Ya Me Voy” — a song also recorded in a banda style alongside Luis Ángel “El Flaco.” The fusion of Uribe’s traditional sound with the jazz and Motown influences rooted in Hanlon’s native Detroit resulted in a flawless blend of classical virtuosity and Latin rhythms. Banda MS The band, hailing from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, also headlined one of the standout moments for regional Mexican music during the Premios HEAT gala, performing songs such as “Hermosa Experiencia” and “Mi Mayor Anhelo” — a showcase that highlighted a career that has taken Banda MS’ music to stages across Mexico, the U.S. and Latin America. Dayanara & Olga Tañón Ecuadorian artist Dayanara Peralta fulfilled one of her musical dreams by performing the song “Sé Que Vendrás Llorando” alongside Puerto Rican star Olga Tañón during the 2026 HEAT Latin Music Awards — a performance that brought the audience to their feet and inspired them to show off their best dance moves. Later, Tañón joined forces with Mar Solís in “Contigo o Sin Ti” in an emotional encounter that brought two generations together on the same stage; and also performed “Ya Me Cansé” with the Peruvian band Grupo 5. Gloria Trevi Iconic Mexican pop star Gloria Trevi — who was honored this year as Artista Oro (Golden Artist) — delivered one of the gala’s standout moments with a vibrant, high-energy medley of her greatest hits. She brought the evening to a spectacular close with performances of “Todos Me Miran,” “Me Lloras,” “Pelo Suelto” and “Con Los Ojos Cerrados.” Accompanied by a troupe of dancers, the singer once again demonstrated her enduring appeal across multiple generations. ‘Those Who Live On’: A Tribute to Vicente Fernández, José José & More One of the most moving moments of the ceremony came with a posthumous tribute to great stars of Mexican music. Majo Aguilar honored her grandparents, Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, with the songs “Un Puño de Tierra” and “Cielo Rojo”; young talent Mario Girón remembered José José with a heartfelt rendition of “El Triste”; and Colombian singer Paola Jara performed “La Llorona,” a classic of the Mexican songbook popularized by Chavela Vargas. The tribute also featured a performance by Francis, who sang the legendary Paquita la del Barrio classic “Rata de Dos Patas.” Get weekly rundowns straight to your inbox Sign Up
